Stripe is a third-party payment solution that allows you to accept credit card and debit card payments online store. It's safe and fast.

Lainappi uses Stripe to make transactions easy and secure. Lainappi complies with EU directives, which means that in order to make payments between users, the renter (owner) must identify himself. Read more about EU directives here.

Lainappi has an obligation to know the customers by name as well. Know your customer (KYC) obligations require that Stripe collect and maintain information about all Stripe account holders. They are intended to prevent abuse.

 

Stripe requires personal information and must be completed if you are: the person creating the Stripe account or the company creating the Stripe account.

VIDEO IN ENGLISH: https://youtu.be/KjYUB7OFKXo You can create a Stripe account in the Lainappi-app. A Stripe account is created only once per user account, after which the process no longer needs to be done. Follow the steps in the video to connect your account.

Do I need a Stripe account when renting?

Yes, because money is moving between owners and renters, creating a Stripe account is essential for security and reliability reasons. In addition, both parties will need a valid credit or debit card with the Visa or Mastercard logo.

Is Stripe safe?

Yes, the Stripe follows to the most strict safety standards in the industry.

Does the Stripe meet PCI requirements?

Yes. Stripe is a Level 1 PCI compliant service provider.

How fast can I start renting?

You can complete rental transactions as soon as your Stripe account is linked to your Lainappi account. Stripe processes all your payment transactions made in the Lainappi app.

How often does Stripe transfer money to my account?

Stripe transfers money to the bank account according to the schedule specified in the Stripe dashboard. You can change the schedule on the Transfers tab. You can also see an overview of Stripe transfers to your bank account in the Stripe dashboard. Note that most banks only process transfers on weekdays, so a transfer may take a couple of days longer than expected.

How does Stripe take care of the wrong cards?

Stripe prevents fraud by detecting suspicious activity. For example, payment transactions related to recurring orders will be rejected. Stripe works with global partners and credit card networks to monitor fraudulent companies.

How does Stripe handle disputes?

Lainappi is not responsible for disputes related to rentals. Stripe handles all disputes related to payments directly.

Why doesn't my payment go through?

If you get an error message when trying to pay, it usually means that you need to enable online payments for your card(s). It can also mean that you need to transfer more money to your bank account. Check your bank’s website on how to enable online payments.

How much does Stripe cost?

Stripe does not directly pay the renters anything at all. The Lainappi service charges a 15% service fee per transaction for rentals made in the Lainappi application. From this service fee, Lainappi pays the costs of Stripe and other services.

How much do payments cost?

Refunds are not possible in the Lainappi service or in the Lainappi application. The owner and the renter may agree on a repayment outside the Lainappi service. If this is the case, the Lainappi service is not obliged to refund the service fee for the rental transaction.

I'm having trouble connecting or creating a Stripe account.

If you get a message when you sign up for the Strip that says an account already exists, you may already have an account. Start the process over and sign in with your existing Stripe account. If you're having trouble connecting, it could be due to a poor network connection or downtime at your bank.

How do I disconnect my Stripe account?

You can disconnect your Stripe account from Lainappi. Please contact us so we will disconnect it for you.
